  110. Strategies... has NOT been compressed. To open, move STRATS24.xxx
  111. to the directory from which you will access it with your word processor.

  113. Converting to a Mac format ? -- Additional instructions below.

  115. Strategies to Reduce College Costs has been stored in Rich Text
  116. Format (RTF)--a Microsoft standard, which may be read by
  117. Microsoft Word and many other word processors. Boot your word
  118. processor, Choose File, Open, File Type: RTF or Rich Text
  119. Format. Then, select the directory where STRATS24.RTF has been
  120. installed, open it and proceed as instructed.

  122. If you are prompted to save STRATS24.xxx in your word processor's own
  123. format, do so. If you are asked questions about how to install, choose
  124. "Convert Styles." In any version of Windows, you may also use your file
  125. manager to start STRATS24.xxx by double clicking the file name, then
  126. Associating it with your word processor or WordPad.

  128. If your word processor is not able to read the STRATS24.RTF
  129. file, you may use your word processor's ASCII file format reader
  130. to open STRATS24.TXT, which has also been included. This format
  131. does not retain all of the nice formatting codes that RTF
  132. handles, such as Font sizes, Bold, Underline and Italics.
  133. However, if this is your only choice, just use your word
  134. processor to add these attributes as you read.

  140. IBM to MacIntosh Conversion Instructions:
  141.     Pull down the Apple menu and click on "Apple File Exchange."
  142.     Insert the IBM disk.
  143.         A double window will be displayed with your Mac directory on
  144.         one side (probably left) / the IBM directory on the other.
  145.     Pull down the "MS-DOS to Mac" menu.
  146.         Select "Text Translation." A pop-up will open. Click OK.
  147.     In the list showing the Mac directory,
  148.         locate the folder where you wish to put STRATS24.RTF and
  149.         double click on the folder name to open it.
  150.     Click on "Translate" button in the middle of the window.
  151.         STRATS24.RTF will be translated to Mac format and moved
  152.         to the Mac folder you have designated.
